 West Brom are keen on signing Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen.
The Belgium international left Arsenal for the Nou Camp in 2014 but has endured three years of injury problems – including during a loan spell at Roma last season.
Vermaelen, 31, still has two years left on his Barcelona contract and has also reportedly attracted interest from Crystal Palace.

A grandmother-of-six has vowed to continue fighting for a visa for her new husband, who is 45 years her junior, lives 4,000 miles away, and who she met face-to-face on their wedding day. Angela Nwachukwu, 72, married her husband CJ Nwachukwu in April 2015, just three months after he had added her on Facebook and struck up a conversation. A British model who was drugged, stuffed in a bag, driven to a farmhouse and auctioned as a sex slave by a Dark Web gang has described how she woke up shackled inside a bag (as shown top right) with tape over her mouth. The online criminals, known as Black Death, lured the woman, 20, whose identity has not been revealed, from Paris to an abandoned shop near Milan's Central Station with the promise of a photoshoot.
