Lorry driver Ryszard Masierak, 31, charged with death by dangerous driving and being over alcohol limit

The taxi driver who was killed alongside seven others was taking a visiting family to start their dream European holiday when a 'drunk lorry smashed into their minibus' on the M1 at Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire on Saturday morning.

Last night the minicab driver was named as Cyriac Joseph, a father-of-two from Nottingham and a self-made businessman who came to Britain 15 years ago. He ran his own successful minicab firm (top right).

He was killed at the scene and his devastated loved ones gathered at his home in shock last night including close frend Manu Zachariah who described him as someone who was 'always there when you need him'.

His vehicle was completely crushed after a crash with two lorries including a FedEx delivery truck (bottom right).

Lorry driver Ryszard Masierak, 31, from Worcestershire has been charged with death by dangerous driving and being over alcohol limit.

A second driver David Wagstaff, aged 53, of Stoke-on-Trent, was also charged with death by dangerous driving.
