Manchester City star Sergio Aguero faces police investigation after Bournemouth steward alleges striker hit them following winning goal
Sergio Aguero is facing a police investigation after a Bournemouth steward alleged they were attacked by the Manchester City striker.
Dorset Police have taken a statement from the Vitality Stadium steward who claims they were hit by Aguero during the goal celebrations at the end of Bournemouth’s defeat to City.
Aguero, 29, was part of a group of City players who ran over to celebrate Raheem Sterling’s match-winning goal with their travelling contingent in the East Stand.

City told Sportsmail they had seen footage of the alleged incident and claim that Aguero, who also denies any wrongdoing, will not have a case to answer, while footage taken by fans in the crowd appears to show the flashpoint in question.
In the two-minute video, Aguero goes over to a steward who has a City fan pinned on the floor, and appears to protest over his treatment.
After talking to the steward, Aguero then raises his arm into the air angrily, at which point the policeman intervenes, with he and the player also arguing about the incident.
Aguero attempts to go back to the fan again, but is blocked by the officer, and the two push each other roughly, the striker getting particularly irate.
He eventually returns to the game as the City fans chant his name. While this is just one video of an incident not yet confirmed to be the one complained about, it was an ugly flash point which took the gloss off an important win for City.

Emotions were running high after Pep Guardiola’s side scored a second goal, having fallen behind to Charlie Daniels’s first-half strike, in the seventh minute of stoppage time.
The fourth official had indicated five minutes of added time and referee Mike Dean was booed around the stadium by Bournemouth’s supporters for allowing more.
Bournemouth took the lead when Daniels struck a half-volley from outside the area in 13th minute. But City equalised on 21 minutes through Gabriel Jesus before Sterling netted late on.

News of the alleged incident broke on MailOnline after Guardiola spoke in his post-match press conference, but he said: ’If you cannot celebrate with the fans, the best solution is not to invite the fans. At the end of the game you score a goal you can imagine how happy the guy is, and the team, they want to go with our fans.’
Images from the game show Aguero with his arm extended towards a steward, who is pushing back at the forward. A police officer then puts himself between the pair, though a visibly furious Aguero is still attempting to confront the official.
Eventually team mates, including captain Vincent Kompany, also get involved and Aguero is moved away, although he continues to protest to the police officer.
