Ozil issues apology after Liverpool defeat

I don’t want to be too cynical about this, but Ozil and his team do know how to tug at the heartstrings of the Arsenal supporters.

Ozil did cut a forlorn figure at the final whistle yesterday, and I believe the frustration and sadness at the result probably was genuine.

Any professional player with any sort of pride would have felt that way after such a performance. Sadly, we’ve been here before many times. The players often promise to come back stronger and better having learned their lessons, but they never do learn.

So the cycle repeats itself. Fans don’t want to see written apologies, no matter how sincere. They want to see improved performances on the pitch, so nobody has to experience this again.
